Additional Information About the Role- Up to a $2300 Sign on Bonus
- Shift information: The Behavioral Health Urgent Care is open Monday - Saturday from 9am to 7pm so there will be a every other Saturday component to the shift. Shifts are scheduled as 10 hour shifts or 12 hour shifts
- Types of clients: You will be supporting clients presenting in crisis within the Behavioral Health Urgent Care Facility. We provide intake assessments and recommendations for outpatient care for individuals as needed
- Team dynamic: This team is in partnership with SSM DePaul staff. We work together with SSM medical and psych staff daily. While we coordinate with them from a timing standpoint with clients, our roles have very separate functions
- Location: Behavioral Health Urgent Care on DePaul Hospital’s campus (this is an person position - no remote or hybrid)
- Ideal Skill Set: Comfort collaborating across two different systems, experience with the EMR, Epic and experience with crisis and safety assessments, good communication skills, ability to work independently, comfort with technology
- Job responsibilities: Completing assessments for individuals presenting to the Behavioral Health Urgent Care
- Must be Fully licensed in Missouri (LPC or LCSW)
Overview
BJC Behavioral Health is a community health center that provides and coordinates behavioral health services for more than 8,000 seriously mentally ill adults and seriously emotionally disturbed children in St. Louis City, St. Louis County, St. François, Iron and Washington counties. As an Administrative Agent of the Missouri Department of Mental Health (DMH), BJC Behavioral Health serves as a major point of entry for people eligible for mental health services funded by DMH and is responsible for serving as gatekeeper to the public mental health system.

Role Purpose
The Intake Specialist provides the initial screening and evaluation of individuals seeking service from BJC Behavioral Health. This position will use its knowledge of eligibility requirements to refer and connect individuals to services, both internal and external, that will address the identified need. This position will also provide interim case management for those who will receive case management internally but have yet to be assigned to a team. Additionally, the Intake Specialist will provide brief evidence-based therapies to address problems that can be resolved through clients’ own actions and/or thought processes.
